In accordance with their ownership directives, Film i Skåne strives towards sustainability i three different areas; social sustainability, environmental sustainability and financial sustainability.
This includes anything from getting adequate financing to reach business goals, filmmakers' ability to make a living, film's contribution to an attractive living environment, but also transportation, production materials and recycling habits.
Inspired by European regional film funds and with extra funding from owner Business Region Skåne, Film i Skåne initiated a pilot project in 2018 together with master students at The International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics ant Lund University. The aim of the project is to develop a model to stimulate "green" film production and also to identify areas for sustainable improvements within Film i Skåne and at Ystad Studios.
