EWC is a talent development accelerator for European screenwriters supported by the European Commission and co-funded by the EU alongside several leading TV networks and film organizations. Film i Skåne is the host and main beneficiary of European Writers Club.

European Writers Club (EWC) was launched in 2022 by Thomas Gammeltoft, former CEO of the Copenhagen Film Fund, and is funded by the EU under the “Writing European” initiative in collaboration with many of Europe’s leading TV networks, including SVT, ZDF, TV2, FranceTV, and NRK, as well as film organizations like Film i Skåne, The Danish Film Institute (Denmark), AGADIC, and SGAE (Spain).

EWC supports screenwriters across Europe in developing innovative and successful TV series for a broad European audience. The program fosters collaboration between screenwriters, producers, and TV networks to enhance creativity and originality in stories that cross national borders.

Film i Skåne’s role as host of the European Writers Club strengthens the collaboration between the Skåne and Copenhagen regions and will benefit the creative development of screenwriters throughout Europe.
