We work towards a sustainable and robust film industry that contributes to the growth of Skåne and the production of artistically interesting films in the region. We achieve this by investing in film production, nurturing future talents, operating Ystad Studios, and promoting the region to the international film industry through the Southern Sweden Film Commission.

We invest in the development and co-production of feature films, TV series, documentaries, and short films, with requirements for rights and a share in the returns from the projects we participate in. We also require spending in the region and creative input in projects.

Apply for development and co-production funding

Film in Skåne offers various opportunities for development and co-production funding for films and TV series. Applications are handled by the responsible film commissioner in consultation with Film in Skåne’s production group. The processing time is estimated to be approximately 6 weeks.

Stipendiet (The Grant)

For filmmakers of all ages in an early stage of their filmmaking career, it is possible to apply for a grant of 5000 SEK awarded by Filmcentrum Syd in collaboration with Film in Skåne.
