Stipendiet (The Grant)

For filmmakers of all ages who are at an early stage of their filmmaking, it is possible to apply for a scholarship of SEK 5,000 awarded by Filmcentrum Syd in collaboration with Film i Skåne.

When Can You Apply?

Deadlines 2024: March 3 and September 29

The response to the application is estimated to be approximately 6 weeks after each deadline.

Who Can Apply?

You apply as an individual and do not need to have a production company. The support is only given to productions with applicants who are residing and active in Skåne. We are primarily interested in projects where filming has not yet begun. Previous film productions are not a requirement, but please link to any projects if available.

Who Cannot Apply?

• The scholarship is not awarded for school projects, and it is not possible to apply while you are attending a film education program (even if you are working on the project outside school hours).
• You cannot apply for music video projects or commercials.
• You cannot apply for the scholarship if you have previously received it.
• You cannot apply for the scholarship if you are simultaneously applying for short film or documentary film support from Film i Skåne with the same project.

Guidelines

The funds cannot be used to pay salaries but should be used for other costs associated with the production of your film (e.g., equipment, travel, set design). It is not possible to apply for the scholarship for project development, only for production.

What Should the Application Include?

When applying, a number of attachments must be uploaded as PDF files (maximum 30MB per file):

• Project presentation (if you have visual material, such as a mood board, it should be included in the project presentation)
• Budget
• CV

You need to have the files available on your computer to complete and submit your application. It is not possible to submit an incomplete application.
