Film festivals in Skåne
Film festivals are an important part of cultural life. They broaden our access to films from different countries and cultural contexts and are important meeting places for both audiences and the film industry. Skåne is a dynamic film region with a rich range of film festivals and film events that have local, regional and international significance.
Film i Skåne is actively involved in most of these events.
Pixel Skånes Kortfilmsfestival
Pixel is Film i Skåne’s own film festival for filmmakers at the beginning of their career. Pixel started in 1996 and has since grown in both reputation and size. From having been a festival for young unestablished filmmakers, Pixel is today a festival both for new talent and for the more established industry. Pixel is divided into different competition sections with prizes for, among other things, best film and one of Sweden’s biggest short film awards – Pixel Talent Award. The festival is also a selection festival for the national Novemberfestivalen.
