Producing People - nytt initiativ

2017-02-09  P R E S S R E L E A S E

During Berlin international film festival, Film i Skåne launch a new talent development initiative: Producing People. Four emerging producers from Southern Sweden will be mentored and supported for one year to springboard to the next level.

Four female producers have been selected to participate. They all bring different experiences into the group as they are themselves planning and booking experts they need for the program. Film i Skåne adds financial support and mentoring, adapting this new co-creative model of training to be totally responsive to the needs of the participating producers.

”We wish to enable a new generation of producers from Southern Sweden to elevate their skills and be ready to work in an international and highly competitive market, bringing new and relevant film projects into production. The initiative will also help speeding up the career process as industry reports show it differs between the genders. ” Lisa Nyed, Commissioning Editor Documentary Film, Film i Skåne.

Three of the producers are participating at a Co-production meeting – "Autobahn to co-production" - gathering producers from Southern Sweden, Copenhagen and Berlin regions during the Berlinale. The meeting is a project within Southern Sweden Creatives, co-financed by the European Union Regional Development Fund and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth.
