Co-production of Documentary Films

Film i Skåne invests in the production of audiovisual documentary projects of all lengths with creators and/or companies based in Skåne. We invest a maximum of 30 percent of the film’s budget and act as a co-producer with requirements for rights and returns.

Applications for co-production are handled on an ongoing basis. The processing time is estimated to be approximately 6 weeks. Processing times will be longer during July and August due to vacations.

Who Can Apply?

Producers with companies (including sole proprietorships) can apply. Companies or creators must be based in Skåne.

It is also possible to apply with international co-productions where a Skåne-based company is a minority producer.

Guidelines and Regulations

Film i Skåne invests in projects deemed artistically interesting with audience potential regionally, nationally, or internationally.

We can only participate in co-productions that have other financing in addition to contributions from the production company and Film i Skåne. This can include contributions from the Swedish Film Institute, other regional resource centers and funds, TV channels, and private investors.

Film i Skåne aims to reflect society’s composition in terms of gender and cultural diversity in its initiatives.

Our mission is to work for the development of the Skåne film industry, and projects with a clear anchoring in the region are prioritized. Spending of funds in Skåne is a requirement, although filming does not need to take place in the region.

What Should the Application Include?

You apply by filling out the form below.

When applying, a number of attachments must be uploaded as PDF files. Each file can be a maximum of 30MB, and you need to have them available on your computer to complete and submit your application:

• Project description (synopsis, director’s vision, producer’s vision, team description, visual vision, audience vision)
• Script
• Timeline
• Budget
• Specification of spending in Skåne and Malmö
• Financing plan
• Distribution plan
• CVs of creators and other key persons

Fields in the form marked with (*) are mandatory.
It is not possible to submit an incomplete application.
